Hello, I'm Laura!
It's so nice to meet you! How did I get here - flower farming and such?
The short story is that I grew up on a farm in central West Virginia. And when I married Mark, we both wanted to live in the country where we could raise a family surrounded by a few cows, a couple of horses, maybe some chickens, and definitely a garden.
So we moved to Catawba, VA. And while we raised two fun little girls and a few animals, I planted veggies and annuals. Put in shrubs and perennials. Planted a few trees. Tried some vines.
I had a lot of failures and successes, but mostly I learned that gardening was therapy for me. Sunshine, water, fresh air, and color bring me joy. Designing, learning, and problem solving propel me. And I discovered over the years that I like sharing from my garden because the best thing about flowers are the smiles they grow on faces!
